GBV1

The Gender Based Violence Advocacy programme is to improve service provision and community awareness of services for survivors of sexual assault in rural settings of province of KwaZulu Natal, which struggles with one of the highest rates of gender-based violence in the country.

The scourge of gender based violence in the country has made an outbreak beyond the peak level and requires the contribution and participation of all of us as active citizens.

GBV1

The National Strategic Plan was adopted in 2020 as a society-wide programme to end gender-based violence and femicide. It is organised around six pillars, which are aimed at prevention of GBV, strengthening the criminal justice response to GBV, and providing support, care and healing to survivors of gender-based violence.

Unfortunately this continues to sound like good music from a far to the ordinary rural women.
