Zama Zulu Foundation

Our Quick History

The Zama Zulu Foundation (Z.Z.F) is a registered Non-Profit Organisation operating at the heart of the Ulundi Local Municipality in the KwaZulu-Natal Province of South Africa. Founded in 2021 and governed in alignment with the Non-Profit Organisations Act (Act 71 of 1997), the Foundation was established in direct response to the socio-economic challenges faced by women, youth, and vulnerable community members in the Ulundi area and its surrounding rural wards.
The Foundation operates with a clear dual mandate: social empowerment and restorative justice. On the social front, Z.Z.F delivers structured programmes targeting gender-based violence prevention, HIV/AIDS awareness, psychosocial support, skills development, and economic upliftment. On the justice and rehabilitation front, the Foundation pioneers Victim-Offender Dialogue (VOD) initiatives, correctional centre partnerships, and reintegration support for formerly incarcerated individuals — all aimed at reducing recidivism and building safer, more cohesive communities.
Recognised and recommended by the KwaZulu-Natal Department of Social Development's Mahlabathini Service Office, the Zama Zulu Foundation has consistently demonstrated its commitment to community transformation, operating with transparency, accountability, and measurable social impact across all its programmes.
